Why use K-Rend?
Render is used on external walls to seal them off to the elements, or to give a property a facelift. Early rendering was a messy business, slapped on the walls using sand and cement and finished with coloured paint. Over the years, render technology has evolved greatly, giving a much bigger choice of colours and finishes, and also enabling tailoring to specific environments.
Traditional render is subject to wear and tear and if not regularly maintained and repaired, can leave the building in a terrible condition. Cracks may appear on older render systems, which can then lead to damp and water penetration.
The thinner coat renders tend to use a lot fewer bags of material, which is why in most cases they tend to be much cheaper to install than thick coat renders.

How its done
What are the options?
K Rend products come in a variety of textures. It is important you choose the texture that is right when rendering a house or commercial property.
Silicone Thin Coat
The Silicone Thin Coat range has a very fine textured finish. It is available in 2 different textures: TC 15 and TC 30.
TC 15 refers to the maximum particle size within the mix of 1.5mm
TC 30 refers to the maximum particle size within the mix of 3.0mm
Silicone Scraped Texture
This range provides a scraped textured finish. It is achieved by floating to a level surface, then scrape using a scraping tool when render is set not hard, removing 2mm to produce a uniform texture.
There are 4 products within the range:
Silicone FT
Silicone Spray E Grade
Silicone K1
K1 Spray
Silicone Dash Receiver
Silicone Dash Receiver range provides a “pebble dash” textured finish. It is achieved by applying the receiver and then throwing the aggregate onto the surface while the receiver is still wet (or ‘green’).
There are 3 products within the range:
Silicone Dash
Overcoating Silicone Dash
Silicone Spray Dash
Silicone Roughcast
Silicone Roughcast provides a “painted pebble dash” textured finish. The finish is achieved by applying the receiver and then throwing the aggregate onto the surface while the receiver is still wet (or ‘green’).
Brick Rend
Brick Rend provides a brick effect textured finish. It is achieved by applying two different coloured coats, wet on wet. The top coat is then cut through to expose the mortar layer. The mortar joints create a brick effect finish.
